Considered one of the best in the world, Martín Berasategui was born on 27 April 1960 in Donosti, San Sebastián in Spain. As one of the geniuses of contemporary cuisine, Berasategui immerses himself in creating new dishes and flavours.
He began working in kitchens at the age of 13, starting at the family restaurant. The became in charge of his own kitchen at the age of 21, and five years later he received his first Michelin star. In 1993, he opened the Martin Berasategui restaurant, which received a Michelin star the year it opened, one in 1996 and another in November 2001, which places him among the 30 best chefs in the world.
Martin Berasategui oversees the kitchen at multiple restaurants, and now, thanks to the SANA Group, he is the only chef with 8 Michelin stars in Portugal.
